Visiting Professor Prof. Michael S. Freund
November 18th, 2022
We have had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Michael Freund from Dalhousie University, Canada, as a visiting Professor the past few weeks to develop polyoxometalate/conducting polymer nanocomposite thin films for supercapacitor applications. Super enjoyable collaboration, thanks for visiting Michael!
5th International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE)/Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Group Irish Regional Early Career Meeting
November 5th, 2022
We participated in the 5th ISE/RSC Irish Regional Early Career Meeting in Electrochemistry at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB), Northern Ireland, with oral presentations by Nataly and Nicolás and a poster presentation by Andrés. Micheál was as a co-organiser of this conference, along with Dr Paul Kavanagh and Scott Place from QUB, Dr James Rohan from the Tyndall National Institute, Cork, and Dr Michelle Browne from Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin, Germany). Andrés and Nataly also chaired sessions during this highly enjoyable meeting.
Dualflow kick-off meeting
November 1st, 2022
Micheál travelled to Aalto University, Finland, for the DUALFLOW consortium kick-off meeting. Micheál, Prof. Pekka Peljo and Prof. Kathryn Toghill (in the lower picture) are all alumni of Prof. Hubert Girault’s group at EPFL, Switzerland, where they overlapped as postdoctoral researchers from 2011 to 2014. This consortium provides them with an extremely exciting opportunity to work together on a collaborative project once more.
