Micheál travelled to the Universidad de Alicante in Spain and was part of the jury as an external examiner for the PhD defence of Ms. Ichrak Loughlani Rayane for her thesis entitled “Silica-Modified Electrodes by the Sol-Gel Method towards Advanced Sensing Applications”. The PhD supervisors were Prof. Francisco Montilla and Dr Alonso Gamero-Quijano (University of Alicante), and the other members of the jury were Prof. Joaquín Arias Pardilla (Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, Spain) and Prof. Emilia Morallón (Universidad de Alicante).
