Dr. Alonso Gamero-Quijano
Postdoctoral Researcher
Alonso is a Peruvian researcher who graduated from Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (Peru) in 2011. He carried out his Master and Ph.D. studies in the Group of Electrocatalysis and Polymer Electrochemistry at the University of Alicante (Spain) under the supervision of Prof. Francisco Montilla and Prof. Francisco Huerta. Alonso received his Ph.D. in 2014. In 2015, he joined the Laboratoire de Chimie Physique et Microbiologie pour les Matériaux et l'Environnement (LCPME) in France as a CNRS-postdoctoral researcher working under the supervision of Dr. Alain Walcarius and Dr. Grégoire Herzog. In 2017 he joined the Scanlon Electrochemistry Laboratory.
Alonso's research interests are multi-faceted and related to fundamental electrochemistry, electrocatalysis, electrochemistry at liquid-liquid interfaces, conductive polymers and bioelectrochemistry. Alonso was awarded an Irish Research Council (IRC) Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship Award in 2018 (grant no. GOIPD/2018/252).
